Hardboiled Eggs, Part 5
One name remained on Willy’s list – Dwayne Hodges, a guy who’s new to the town.
Three short years ago, he bought the skiing lodge and the slope franchise from Mr. Brown.
Hodges, a phys-ed graduate from the University of Montana,was a former member of the US Olympic skiingteam and his wife’s name is Hannah.
Willy never seemed to have much in common with that guy.
Hodges had long hair, and an earring – the generation gap you can’t deny.
Being thirty years older than Hodges made it hard for Willy to understand
And he never bothered to get to know him or try to give him a hand.
"It’s definitely Hodges", huffed Weatherbee, pounding his plump pinkish fist
"He is probably serving hot fresh omelets at the lodge, on my expense – I insist!”
Later that afternoon, Hodges entered the general store with a long list of needed supplies.
Willy’s adrenalin level reached dam breaking proportions – he couldn’t even look into the guys eyes.
Hodges spent three hundred dollars on tons of groceries and two big kegs;
And Willy thought about charging him more for the stolen eggs
