Frankie wandered around for a while until he found a barn. Wow! He had never seen a barn before. He was curious. He went inside and saw tons of chickens and hens sitting in bundles of hay. As soon as the chickens saw Frankie, they all threw up their wings in panic. The hay was flying everywhere! One friendly chicken came down to warn Frankie and explained to him what the entire ruckus was about. “Hi there stranger,” he said. “Let me explain a few things to you about chickens.  We are very friendly to each other. We take care of each other and do everything together.  We are hard workers and are very organized egg layers.  We are really weary of strange chickens that aren’t part of our coop and even more so of strange birds and other animals. I’m sure you are a really nice guy, but you don’t belong here.  I suggest you fly before they come peck at you.”

Frankie took his advice and flew far away. Frankie started to cry. “I’m sure that they didn’t like me because of my ugly feet. All those things the chicken said were just excuses. They really thought I was scary looking. That must be it. I guess I don’t fit in with the chickens. Will I ever fit in with anyone? My flakey feet are so ugly. How can I ever be good enough when I’m so gross?”
