The whole way home the digger was excited
To tell his wife of the treasure – she’ll be so delighted!
While he was walking he sang a tune
To thank his creator for the wealth he’d see soon.
“I’m very lucky, my heart is soaring
My feet are dancing, my heart is pouring
Pouring out the praise of Hashem!
Thank you so much for the Gem!”
The man sang and danced all the way to his wife
He sang and he sang! He was so grateful for his life!
When he got home he told his wife what he found
And with a big hug he was off on his trip – mission bound.
When he got to the port where the boat was boarding it’s crew
He realized he hadn’t thought his plan through
He didn’t have money to get on the ship
What would he do without a bargaining chip?
He had to think quickly, as the boat would soon set sail
So he thought out his plans down to the last detail
He went on a search for the captain of the boat
And hoped that he would accept an IOU note.
He found the captain who turned out to be
A pirate who even said “A-hoy Maytee”
Oy Va Voy the man thought quietly in his head
Maybe he should just turn around instead?
"When he got home he told his wife what he found…"
