There’d Be No Whys

When the heart feels like stone  And its chambers locked
When you’re chilled to the bone
After you’ve been shocked

When your brain is on hold
And your mind is on pause
With a question and a why
To know the cause

There is no why
When you live like a Jew
And the cause of it is not
Meant to be known to you

For if it was
We’d see straight through the skies
All the heavens would be open
And there would be no whys

But we’re here for a purpose
To fulfill a specific role
Hashem sent us down here
Clothed on a heavenly soul

Not to live the way WE want
But to follow His will
Sometimes it’s hard to accept
It’s like swallowing a bitter pill

But the pill is sweet
Cuz G-D Himself is painting the picture
And He designed our life
With His heavenly scripture

We’re like puppets on a string
Being pulled from the one above
With no choice of direction
But the pulling is with love

For Hashem is so so good
He’ll never let go of our string
But if we follow with acceptance
Only bracha it will bring

For He is testing our strength
So that our tikkun can be complete
And if He’ll see us accepting with love
He’ll change the pill from bitter to sweet
