A New Flood?

Rising earth temperatures and underwater active volcanos have caused a heating of the sea which melts Polar ice. Massive ice-shelf projectiles now threaten entire continents…

Hashem promised that there wouldn’t be another flood like the one in Noah’s time that resulted from forty days and forty nights of rain. Hashem never said anything about melting ice…

King David, the Lord's anointed and one of our most important prophets, wrote in Psalm 96 that the sea will roar before Hashem reveals Himself, as Judgment Day approaches and we enter the Messianic Age. Was King David referring to the Tsunami? I don't think so, because the Tsunami was like a splash in the bathtub compared to what's brewing under the surface of the world's seas right now.

Recently, underwater and under-ice volcanoes have been discovered around the world. Together with gradually rising earth temperatures, the active volcanoes have caused a geothermal heating of sea temperatures which melt ice. As a result, both in the Arctic and Antarctic, massive ice shelves, some the size of Rhode Island, have broken off the mainland.

Probably the most important ice shelf in all of Antarctica is the Ross Shelf. The Ross Shelf is a huge chunk of floating ice the size of France. Now, guess what's recently been discovered underwater, or shall we say under the ice, In Antarctica, not far from the Ross Shelf – fasten your seat belts, ladies and gentlemen – a new and very active volcano.

Recently, three small "chunks", each the size of Rhode Island, broke off the Ross Shelf and are floating freely in the chilly Antarctic Ocean. Although it's unlikely that a volcanic eruption could move the entire Ross Shelf, it could certainly turn one of the smaller shelves into a catastrophe that resembles a Jumbo jet the size of Rhode Island taxiing on a runway at 200 miles per hour with no brakes. If such an ice shelf collides with any coastal shore, not even a Steven Spielberg could imagine the outcome.

Probably the biggest danger in the rising global temperatures and the melting of Polar ice caps is the consequent rise of sea levels. For example, if the Atlantic rises a mere three feet in coming years as a recent U.S. Environmental Protection Agency study predicts, this increase would inundate some 22,400 square miles of land along the Atlantic and Gulf coasts of the United States, primarily in Louisiana, Texas, Florida and North Carolina. At particular risk are island nations like the Maldives; over half of that nation's populated islands lie less than 6 feet above sea level. Even major cities like Shanghai and Lagos would face similar problems, as they also lie just six feet above present water levels.

Here's the good news: Hashem, the One and Only Creator, runs the world. If we didn't understand the language of the Tsunami, we had better understand the language of what's occurring under the Antarctic ice this very minute. We are now receiving a wake-up call from Heaven; anyone that can't smell Moshiach on the way needs an urgent ear nose and throat checkup. If we react to Hashem's call, and return to Him with all our hearts, the volcano will sputter a few times, and then die. If we don't react to Hashem's call, I don't want to think about what the outcome could be.

I never did understand why King David juxtaposed ice and fiery vapors in Psalm 148, verse 8. Now, the mystery is revealed – King David knew about an under-ice volcano that would be one of the harbingers of the Messianic Age.

Isn't it time that we all wake up?

Elija the prophet, the forerunner of Moshiach, said: "At that time the whole world will quake and the people will wonder, "Is a new Flood coming on the world?' G-d will assure them, 'No, this isn't a flood. Rather, I have come to make a banquet for my children and to rule over the entire world'" (Tanna D'Bei Eliahu Raba, ch.2).

Shouldn't we be getting ready?

This massive Antarctic ice shelf has broken off the mainland and is in effect a floating projectile the size of Rhode Island that could be set off in dangerous motion by an active undersea volcanic eruption. If such an ice shelf would collide with any coastal shore, not even a Steven Spielberg could imagine the outcome.
