The Thirteen Stories of Rabbi Nachman of Breslov

The Thirteen Stories of Rabbi Nachman of Breslov

It is well known that often Tzadikim have to dress their Torah teachings and deep concepts in the form of stories. Amongst Rebbe Nachman’s many teachings he told over thirteen stories which carry deep symbolic meaning. These are the Sipurei Masiyos. The Stories are novel, introducing the reader to fascinating characters and new lands, shining personalities and wondrous plots. Every little nuance in the stories carries great meaning and every word is precious and inspiring.

Rebbe Nachman told the stories over a large span of time, sometimes only telling parts of the story at a given time. Sipurei Masiyos was compiled by Rebbe Nosson. Rebbe Nachman said that so holy were his stories that a barren woman who reads them would be healed and would give birth.

Rebbe Nachman was also quoted as saying, “Most of the world says that telling stories puts people to sleep, I say telling stories can wake people up from their slumber!”

By Rebbe Nachman of Breslov, translated by Esther Koenig. Soft cover, 246 pages.
