The Happy Clay Digger, Part 5

At first the digger was a bit uneasy
Did he know what happened? It made him quite queasy.
But he knew that Hashem only does what is best
And this new situation was only a test.

So he went to the captain with a smile ear to ear
With confidence in Hashem and without any fear.
The captain started off the conversation
I know you are clever and honest – a noble creation.

There is a large ship of grain I’d like to import
It’s worth millions and millions and I need your support.
If I put it in my name I risk being accused
Of embezzling and my name will be bruised.

If I could just put the whole lot in your name
We would both profit greatly and have fortune and fame.
The digger thought about it and then he agreed
Then the captain signed over the entire deed.

A few days later the boat reached London’s shore
And as soon as they got off the captain hit the floor
His death was sudden and the digger was shocked
They hadn’t even completely docked!

The cargo was left in the ditch digger’s possession
When he realised what happened you should have seen his expression!
The cargo was worth many times more than the fancy gem!
And he knew that this gift came straight from Hashem!

“I’m very lucky, my heart is soaring
My feet are dancing, my heart is pouring
Pouring out the praise of Hashem!
Thank you so much Hashem!”

He knew that Hashem only does what is best
And that all those situations were only a test.
He danced and he sang more than ever before
Because Hashem closed a window and opened a door!

The digger thought about it and then he agreed, then the captain signed over the entire deed!
