David the Shepherd Boy, Part 3

There in the valley while the sheep were grazing, he would pray for the Jewish people. He would make requests of Hashem, begging Him, saying:

“Creator of the world, help all Jews learn emuna; let them learn to believe in You! Let them all know that You listen to all prayers and requests. May all members of the Jewish Nation speak to You. Grant them the wonderful gift of emuna! Let them see that everything comes from You and is for the best!”

David had great love for Hashem. He always thanked Hashem and sang such beautiful songs. While the sheep were peacefully grazing, and there was no one else around, he would breathe deeply and listen to the sounds of the wind and the gentle bleating of the sheep. Then a song would well up in his heart, and he would sing to his Creator:

“Thank You, Blessed Hashem, for the kindness You do for me.

Thank You, Blessed Hashem, for the emuna You give me.”

To be continued, G-d willing.
