What is going on out there this winter? I’m seeing people coming down with the flu and upper respiratory illnesses this winter like never before! Pharmaceutical drugs, due to their suppressive nature, create an even longer vicious cycle of illness in most cases so clearly they are not the solution.

I want to share a few fun and healing recipes with you that will help clean you out, boost your immune system and actually energize you instead of adding to the burden and toxicity your body already is dealing with day in day out.

Ready?

Before I share the recipes, allow me to remind you:

Avoid toxins – check the ingredients in the food you buy. If you can’t pronounce it you probably should not be eating it.

Avoid negative thoughts – they are not in line with emuna and will stir you off the path of truth and connection with Hashem.

Take care of yourself – the world is going at high-speed craziness. Do not become a slave to this type of culture. Rest. Simplify. Take it easy.

Maximize your hitbodedut – devote yourself to this highest truth. Do not become a victim of devoting most of your free time to the internet. Hashem is waiting. Start talking.

Seek truth and wisdom – the website is chock full of articles, shiurim and other info dedicated to bringing you the holy teachings of the Torah. If you are going to get on the web, get on Breslev Israel.

Remember – your life is worth more than all the money in the world. The chance you were given to come down here and fulfill your mission and rectification is so very precious. Cleanse, heal and regenerate the body so that you can leverage this limited-time opportunity.

Keep it simple – pure organic fruits, vegetables and herbs. Fresh air. Clean water. Early to bed. Sunlight. Love. Serve Hashem and people without expectation. Humble yourself. Stay connected to the real you – the soul that dwells within.

And now to the recipes…

Healing Tea (from my Winter of Wellness Cleanse Program, check out my website for details)

1 clove garlic, crushed

1/2 inch piece ginger, crushed

1 TBS raw honey

Juice of half a lemon

Combine all ingredients in a mug. Pour boiling water to the top of the mug. Cover the mug for 5 minutes. After five minutes strain and drink. If you are in the throes of a cold or flu, have this drink every hour on the hour. You should see a vast improvement within 24 hours.

Cleansing Pesto (also from my Winter of Wellness 2016 Program)

1 cup basil

1 cup parsley

1/2 cup pumpkin seeds soaked in water for 2 hours, then drained

1 clove garlic

Juice from 1 lemon

1/4 cup olive oil

Grey sea salt to taste

Combine the basil, parsley, pumpkin seeds and garlic in a food processor, pulse and process until finely chopped. Add the lemon juice and slowly add olive oil in a steady drizzle. Store in a sealed container with a thin layer of olive oil over the top to help keep it bright green.

Medicinal Salad Dressing

1/2 cup cashews
1 peeled orange
1 red pepper
1 piece ginger
1 piece turmeric
1 pinch Cayenne
1 clove Garlic

Blend all ingredients in a blender for 1 minute.

Enjoy! Garlic is a natural antibiotic. Ginger is a natural anti-inflammatory. Lemon juice is high in antioxidants, a bowel cleanser and liver detoxifier. Greens are blood builders and immune system boosters. Pumpkin seeds are anti-inflammatory, contain zinc, an immune supporter and omega 3 fats. Turmeric is a natural anti-inflammatory, cancer fighter and anti-depressant. Cayenne is a powerful decongestant and pain reliever. (There are many more healing benefits to all these food but for brevity’s sake I did not list them all).

Le’Chaim – to life!
