L’Chaim!
Join Gad Elbaz and Nissim Black on a trip back to a 19th century Ukranian shtetl - and find happiness. L’chaim!
L’chaim is the featured song of Gad’s brand-new album, also entitled “L’chaim”. The film was made on location in the Ukraine.
An unexpected trip to an antique store catapults Israeli singer Gad Elbaz back through the generations to a 19th century Ukranian shtetl. He finds himself in a simpler time and place where, despite the lack of modern conveniences, everyone (including the farm animals) was happy.
LYRICS
Can’t you see the world is turning
Turning to ashes ’cause fire is burning
Bad news, they make you feel like you can’t be happy
And so, I came to make you scream L’chaim
Nissim:
We wanna thank everybody for coming out here today
It’s gonna be a wonderful, wonderful, wonderful event
And hold on for motion sickness, please
Ignore every situation and occupation
Of all your happiness
Just like a wedding or your Bar Mitzvah, be a Baal Simcha
And shout with thankfulness
Ok come on are you ready
Ok come on are you ready
Ok we are locked and steady
Five, four, three
You better stand for him
You better rock for him
You better love him, thank him
Everybody now scream L’chaim
Nissim:
Yea, Look
Even if the world tells you different
You can attain happiness and change in an instant
Inner peace, real joy, no catch
We live in disbelief ’cause we ain’t been there yet, check
Like Avraham guided by the kishkas
God brings the outcome, you only need a rib cage
No walls, barriers and no blockage
Just move straight ahead, don’t give yourself an option
The time tick tocks and if you aint got a watch then
Life passes by forgetting that he is watching
To life
Toast to the most high
We celebrate life
So L’chaim worldwide
Ok come on are you ready
Ok come on are you ready
Ok we are locked and steady
Five, four, three
We gotta dance for him
We wave our hands for him
We better serve him, hear him
Everybody now scream L’chaim
Can’t you see the world is turning
Turning to ashes ’cause fire is burning
Bad news, they make you feel like you can’t be happy
And so, I came to make you scream L’chaim
So put your hands up
You better get up
So put your hands up
You better get up and scream L’chaim
Tell us what you think!
