Lost in You
Yosef Daniel released a single about his personal journey to Hashem. “I once lived in darkness; Hashem gave me His light. My mission is to spread this light. Join me."
“Lost in You” is a special recognition of hashgacha pratis (personal Divine Providence).
It is based on the story of King David and draws parallel symbolism with Yosef Daniel. King David, a man driven to find favor in Hashem’s eyes, was outcast by his own family. Becoming an outcast wasn’t his final fate however. Rather, it was the conduit that eventually led to King David’s greatness.
Just as David found friendship and unity with Hashem, so has Yosef Daniel in his spiritual voyage and attachment to Torah and mitzvot. “Lost in You” is a description of his journey from being lost, to being found, and to now being lost again…in a good way.
Yosef Daniel comments, “I dedicated this song to Rebbe Akiva and Rebbe Shimon Bar Yochai. Rebbe Akiva was and is the ultimate example of being “found” by Hashem and eventually being “lost” inside the Torah and mitzvot. Losing myself, my past, my friends, my family, my history and starting over in order to follow in the footsteps of Rebbe Akiva and Rebbe Shimon Bar Yochai has been the best decision of my life. I’m comforted that I am a part of a huge family and am a ben Avraham Avinu (son of Abraham our forefather). This song is a reflection of this, my personal yitziat Mitzrayim (Exodus).”
