Plugging into Divine Power

Whether it's talking to G-d, or uprooting negative thoughts, or breaking unhealthy relationship patterns, we need Divine power to fuel our engines. If we don't believe that Hashem exists, and wants to help us, we're like car owners that don't believe there's an engine under the hood. If the car breaks down, they don't know what to fix…

Without knowing where our power comes from, we won't get anywhere and there won't be any real, lasting improvements in ourselves.

Part of the reason that I gave up my practice of psychotherapy and came to work for Rabbi Arush, is because plugging into Divine power changed so many things for me: it enabled me to start acting without fear, to break through patterns that limited me for many years, and to live a happy, fulfilled, inspired and inspiring life. G-d literally filled me up with His power and with His light so that I could start to live and do things that I could only dream about before.

He did that for me, and He wants to do it for you.

Hashem wants you to plug into His power to discover your mission in life and the reason you're alive, and then go out and share that light with other people.

Once you plug into Divine power and start living authentically, as the real you, your charisma will go off the charts.

What is charisma, after all, except an intensity and focus of emotion that we can share with others? When you're excited about being alive, then people will feel that excitement; they'll connect to your emotions, and you'll get your points across.  These days, we must wrap 20% of education into 80% of entertainment, just to make it palatable.

How do we keep others interested in what we say? We talk from our hearts and practice what we preach. As our teacher Rav Arush says, "If you don't live it, you can't give it."

The Creator cherishes our honesty, especially when we speak to Him. He wants us to candidly express our feelings. He wants to feel our belief in Him, because that's where our power is coming from.

If I ask G-d to find me a soulmate, but deep-down, I'm not ready to get married, He'll feel it, and the prayer likely won't get very far. It's well known that successful salesmen believe in their product, and that translates into conviction and an ability to persuade others. If we believe our own prayers, G-d will be “sold”.

If we pray for G-d to show us our purpose in life, He's going to show us. He didn't create us to keep our mission a secret. G-d is bursting to tell us what He created us for–but like every good parent, He's not going to push it on us, especially if it needs a radical shift in the way we live. But when we talk to Him every day from the heart, He'll send us more and more clues and hints. They might be small at first, but if He sees we aren't getting the hints, and we’re still asking Him to show us our path in life, the hints will get bigger, and sooner or later, we'll realize what G-d has been telling us all along.

If we don't have a purpose, or don't know what it is, then we don't know where we're going. We might get out of bed, go through the motions, work, come home, spend time with our families, etc., but if we don't have a focus, we're going to flounder. On the other hand, when we acquire a core belief by plugging into Divine power, we know our mission and gain instant focus. This focus homes in on our goal, fulfilling our task in the world.
