The relationship Rebbe Natan Sternhartz of Breslov had with his Rebbe, Rebbe Nachman, has been compared to the relationship between Moshe Rabbeinu and his chief disciple, Yehoshua. Moshe Rabbeinu is compared to the sun, while Yehoshua is compared to the moon. Just as the moon reflects the light of the sun, so too, Yehoshua reflected the great light of his teacher, Moshe. In the same fashion, Rebe Natan reflected the light of the Rebbe – Rebbe Nachman of Breslev. |

Rebbe Nachman related an interesting parable about the power of his books:
A king's son was so ill that the doctors despaired of his recovery. A very wise doctor arrived in the kingdom and truthfully explained to the king that although the prince had almost no chance of getting well, there was one remedy that they could try as a last resort. “But I do not know if I should even bother telling you about it, because I doubt that you will be willing to do it." |
