Meshorer HaTeshuva (Singer of Teshuva)

On the occasion of Rabbi Moshe Weinberger’s 60th birthday, the leader of the “Esh Kodesh” community in New York, Yosef Kardoner, Haim Dovid Sarachik, and brothers Eitan Katz and Shlomo Katz gathered in the recording studio. These recording artists are also students of Rabbi Weinberger, and with wanted to surprise him with a birthday present. 

The lyrics are from the teachings of Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak HaCohen Kook ztz’l, whose 82nd anniversary occurred on the third of Elul. The song was composed by the singer and composer Shlomo Katz, who recounts that this is the first lesson that Rabbi Weinberger himself learned from Rabbi Kook’s teachings. And it is especially suited to these days of the beginning of the month of mercy and forgiveness. 

“Within each and every one of us lies a violin, sometimes it takes a lot of time until we learn how to play our violin. At first, it doesn’t play anything, but once the melody starts playing in our hearts, it affects the entire world”, says Shlomo Katz.
