The judge, noticing that one of the witnesses is a Chassidic Jew in full regalia orders a Yiddish-English translator. When the Chassid takes the stand he says to the judge “You know there is no need for a translator. I was born in N.Y., got a Doctorate from Harvard and I speak a perfect English”. The translator says “Ehr zugt oz mein darfnit kein metargem, ehr ken reden zeyer gut Einglish.”
